Support Biodiversity Conservation & Research
For the greater part of three decades, we have been involved in various conservation projects. Most notably, the monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystems. This has been done through consistent field surveys in many different parts of southern Africa.
We are now striving to get this data published and distributed in various formats, from detailed reports to the publication of academic/scientific publications.
Some of our immediate projects include:
The digitization of approximately 3 500 slide transparencies which provide an extensive database of historical biodiversity records, landscapes and habitats.
The collation and publication of extensive biodiversity datasets including amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, invertebrates and plants.
Your Membership will support the following objectives in moving forward:
To develop accessible biodiversity inventories and field identification guides for all regions across Africa and its offshore islands.
To carry out biodiversity surveys to inform science-based and community-based conservation management across Africa, for the benefit of people, communities and the environment.
We encourage ideas and collaborations in this regard.
