1. Scope of Services
These Terms apply to all services provided by Biodiversity and Environment Africa / Warren R. Schmidt, including:

In-company seminars and scenario-based workshops
Blog articles and all written content, including all PDF downloads on our ‘Resources’ page.
Original images, diagrams, and graphics
Training materials, handouts, worksheets, and recordings
All services are educational and awareness-based only. We do not provide regulated, professional, legal, medical, or outdoor field training, and we do not guarantee specific outcomes.
2. Eligibility and Authority
Individuals aged 16 or over may access and use our website, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
Companies, public and private universities, higher education institutions, and other education-related organisations may book training or services for their employees, students, staff members, faculty, or other authorised representatives.
Where a booking or agreement is made on behalf of a company, university, or other organisation, the person making the booking confirms that they have the authority to act for and legally bind that organisation to these Terms and Conditions.
Where an individual (including a student) makes a booking in a personal capacity, they will be treated as a consumer. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects their mandatory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and EU consumer protection legislation. For users based in the European Union, these Terms and Conditions do not limit or override any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under the laws of the EU Member State in which the consumer is habitually resident.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions under the laws of your country of residence.
3. Consumers and Business Users
These Terms apply to both Consumers and Business Users:
A Consumer is an individual acting outside their trade, business, or profession.
A Business User is an individual or entity acting in a professional or commercial capacity.
Where you are a Consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in the European Union or your country of residence shall apply and prevail where legally required.
Where you are a Business User, these Terms apply in full.
4. Website and Blog Content
You may view and share links to our blog content for personal or internal organisational use.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, translate, or commercially exploit any content without prior written consent.
All original images, diagrams, and graphics are protected and may not be downloaded or reused without permission.
5. Intellectual Property – Training Materials
All training materials remain the exclusive intellectual property of Biodiversity and Environment Africa / Warren R. Schmidt, including:
Slides, manuals, handouts, and worksheets
Scenario descriptions and role-play exercises
Webinar content and recordings
Original images and graphics
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the materials internally for learning purposes only. You must not:
Copy, photograph, record, or distribute the materials
Upload them to intranets, shared drives, or public platforms
Use them to train others commercially
Adapt them or use them in AI or machine-learning systems
6. Booking, Fees, and Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed once written confirmation is issued.
Fees are agreed at the time of booking and payable according to the invoice terms.
Sessions may be rescheduled due to illness, technical issues, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Cancellation and rescheduling terms will be confirmed at booking and may include fees for late cancellations.
7. On-Site Training and Role Plays
Where training is delivered at your premises:
You are responsible for venue safety, emergency procedures, and first aid arrangements.
Participants must follow facilitator instructions at all times.
Role-play activities are non-physical unless expressly agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to modify or stop any activity for safety or appropriateness reasons.
8. Participant Conduct
Participants must behave professionally and responsibly.
Recording, photographing, or copying training materials is prohibited without written consent.
Unsafe behaviour or misuse of materials may result in removal from the session without refund.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid for the relevant service.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profit or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Indemnity (Business Users Only)
Business Users agree to indemnify and hold Biodiversity and Environment Africa / Warren R. Schmidt harmless against claims arising from:
Misuse or unauthorised distribution of training materials
Breach of these Terms
Failure to control participant conduct during training
11. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Personal data is used only for booking, delivering, and improving our services.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data.

12. International Use
